About us

Gocleer is a mobility platform that rewards environmentally friendly trips, safe driving behaviours and active mobility through different benefits like integrating flexible insurance products, green mobility offerings or supporting climate change or social causes. Gocleer's goal is to protect the mobility of millions of people in a way that has a positive impact by promoting the transition to sustainable urban mobility.

Start of the company

Insurance that adapts to new lifestyles

A few days before the start of the state of alarm and lock down in Spain due to Covid-19, Antonio Morales and Danae Vara decided to join forces to consider how to drive change in the car insurance sector. In the past years, consumers have been changing their habits and preferences to move in urban areas from point A to point B, in addition to new public policies and regulations that are radically changing the way we move in the city. Nevertheless, the insurance sector has not been able to fully adapt to all these changes. This is why Antonio and Danae set out with the vision of creating a new concept of insurance that is more inclusive, fair and sustainable, and to move from the traditional concept of "car insurance" to "mobility protection", since today's citizens need agile and flexible protection for the risks they are exposed to on their daily journeys, regardless of the means of transport they use, in other words, to put the person at the centre.

Gocleer's mission is to lead the new category of mobility insurance by providing protection for people on the go, encouraging sustainable mobility. Gocleer is the first company in the insurance sector in Spain to initiate a certification process to become a BCorp Company, a commitment for companies to generate a triple impact on society, environment and their employees. Antonio Morales, CEO

He has a professional career of more than 15 years in the tech industry leading digital projects in the transport, insurance and automotive sectors in several LATAM countries. Throughout his career he has been CEO of Location World (CarSync), a company specialised in developing telematics technology and new business models through the Internet of Things (IoT) for the automotive, transportation, security, logistics and insurance industries, and Growth Leader of Waze for LATAM, a startup with the status of world's leading unicorn acquired by Google for $1.1B.

He is a serial entrepreneur in the renowned Endeavor network and holds an MBA in Business Administration from IDE Business School in collaboration with IESE Business School in Spain, and several international programmes at Harvard Business School, among others.

Danae Vara, CPO

She has over 15 years of experience in creating digital solutions for video games, B2B applications or enterprise SaaS solutions, as well as creating user experience (UX) strategies. Prior to joining the Gocleer team, Danae was VP of Product at RedPoints, a leading legaltech company with over $67M in investments from Northzone, EightRoad Ventures and Mangrove Capital Partners among others.

She holds a degree in Design and Arts from the University of Southampton and a degree in Product Design from ELISAVA (Barcelona University School of Design and Engineering). She also holds a Master's degree in Multimedia Creation, Design and Engineering from La Salle.
